GRAND OPENING: APRIL 24TH, 2025

The Whitaker Group is excited to announce the opening of Social Status Detroit, a multi-use community hub that continues to bridge experience and retail dedicated to reclaiming the city’s east side through reimaging a 100-year old commercial building into a destination for culture, connection, and local impact.

Opening on April 24th, 2025, Social Status Detroit will offer an immersive experience that blends culture, fashion, hospitality, and art into one of the most storied neighborhoods. Housed in 1,750 square foot historic structure, the space features a range of distinct concepts, including a window cafe, a central courtyard, and a basketball half-court designed to host neighborhood events and foster local engagement.

Housed within Social Status Detroit, the newest beSocial space serves as an intentional hub for community and creative programming, dedicated to uplifting and amplifying the cultural contributions of the city. Open to all, the space invites people to gather for weekly events, connect, collaborate, and build meaningful relationships in an environment designed to foster creativity, conversation, and community.

The grand opening includes a special Future Forward meeting on 4.29 for locals to gather for an open conversation with the community to honor and amplify the city’s cultural contributions.

The opening of Social Status Detroit is another step in our continuous effort to create spaces that honor culture, spark creativity, and serve the community. More than just a retail experience, it's a platform for connection, self-expression, and storytelling built to honor Detroit’s rich legacy of innovation and style, reflecting the spirit of the people who call this city home.
