Fresh perspectives with the Adidas Forum 84

The Adidas Forum 84 “Orbit Grey” is the latest iteration of the classic silhouette launched in 1984, long-celebrated for its versatility and pivotal role in community and culture. With this latest release focusing on the heritage and legacy of the time-tested icon, we are featuring two community figures setting their own course and bringing fresh perspectives to our cities.

Channeling the power of hoops to bring about change and development for youth in her Greensboro community, Brittany Drew is a former collegiate athlete creating pathways for young women and men to grow their love of the game in a positive and encouraging environment. Building a program where there once were no such opportunities for female athletes looking to work on their game and more, she has now built a league, camps and a platform that are contributing to bringing new energy and opportunities for up-and-coming North Carolina athletes.

When we speak of the Adidas Forum 84, creativity comes top of mind. Its footing in the creative space goes back decades, worn by game changers through the years. J “Slim” Robertson is no different, carving out his own path as a photographer while leveraging his experience and access to open his own studio to support local emerging talent. Taking a step further, he will also be starting creative camps for young kids to fall in love with the same creative passion he picked up in his early years, setting out making a lasting impact in his community for the future of young creatives.
